I want to be an astronaut
I bought this toy for my 4 year old grandson who said he wants to be an astronaut.
He plays with it all the time. I would recommend it for all future astronauts. It seems to be very durable. All you need to have is a little imagination and you can go to outer space everyday.

My 3yo loves this toy
My 3yo received this for his birthday and it's growing to be one of his favorites. It really opens the doors for creativity vs. some of these plastic toys that just make noise. We purchased it along with the accessories and it's hours of fun.

Space shuttle
This is a good quality toy. My son (3 years old) plays a little with it,off and on. The sounds are good. A good purchase for the Rocket lover.

Ohh the fun we can have with Imaginext...
Imaginext really has some of the most durable play toys out there today.
THis shuttle is so nicely made, realistic look and sounds.
In fact that might be one of the drawbacks though. When it does the Space shuttle BEEEP BEEP BEEP, it really isn't something I think that appeals to younger kids or draws them in.
My 2 1 year old son received this and the Imaginext boat for Christmas. I thought this was going to be the bigger hit of the 2, he was all over this in the box before it was wrapped. But he enjoys the boat more and I think it is, as another reviewer mentioned, due to the lack of interesting extras with this set. Really the tower is cool to set the shuttle in but outside of that offers no real draw. There is an elevator that is interesting but sticks on ours right now, not horribly, but still a bit annoying.
It is still Imaginext and way cool and durable, would be a huge hit for any established young space fans out there.

Fisher Price CD Player
This is a pretty decent toy, especially if your child loves music. It's a nice size for little ones to carry around or to take in the car. It's very durable -- ours has been thrown around quite a bit and still looks and works perfectly. Like any other toy with little parts, the "cds" disappear and reappear all of the time, so my son doesn't really use that feature. But the buttons are easy to push and the songs aren't bad. The volume's pretty reasonable as well. The only complaint I have is that the door is a little too difficult for a one year old to get open, so when he does put the discs in he can't really get them out without my help. But like I said, he mainly uses it for the music to dance to. Personally, we much prefer the Little Tykes Boom Box, and it's cheaper and you definitely don't need both. But still, overall, a decent toy.

Disappointed
Children need consistency and this toy just doesn't offer it. It's cute, the songs are fun, but when your child puts a song disc in, it should play the song WITHOUT the parent having to step in and push the button several times to make that happen. Also, when the front is accessed "open" and "close" it should say it each time, instead of every other time. This was purchased by someone else for us. I tested it in the store, and I didn't buy it for a reason. I had hoped I had judged it too hastily, I didn't. My daughter will still play with it, but she tires of it easily and she doesn't "learn" from it as much as she should. What a disappointment.

Entertains a 4 month old!!!
We were given this as a gift for Christmas for my four month old daughter. She LOVES, LOVES, LOVES the songs and LIGHTS... She will watch it as long as I am willing to push the buttons to keep it going... I also know it will last her a while because I have seen many of the other reviews where kids over a year are enjoying putting in and taking out the CD's etc.

That said, I wish it had a continuous play of songs available, so I didn't have to push the buttons over and over, lol... The songs are cheesy, but I think most baby toy songs are cheesy.

My husband and I thought it played the songs on the CD when you put them in, because he coincidentally put them in in the order they played the first time! haha, we later found out, it randomly plays songs... What are the odds of that?!

Overall I really like it because there is not a whole lot that holds a 4 month old's attention for a long period of time and this does. +She will be able to play with it for quite some time!

They changed Jack and Jill lyrics!
My son loves this toy. He's 6 months and he just has to smack the thing to get it to make noise/music which makes him happy. He plays with it all by himself.

The raison d'etre of my review, however, is that Fisher Price changed the lyrics to Jack & Jill! Instead of going up the hill to fetch a pail of water, they "go looking for some color" and then they find a yellow sun. WTF!?! Are the PC-nazis dictating changes to nursery rhymes? Falling down the hill was too violent?! All nursery rhymes and stories are violent! Humpty-dumpty, snow white, hansel and gretel to name a few. Ridiculous. I am aghast. Aghast!

Not what I was expecting, but still okay.
I was expecting it to "play" the CD's, just like the old style record players played the records. My daughter does like this toy and it does teach her about putting the CD's in so she can take them out. However, it doesn't do as much as I expected. Oh well.
